arthquake is an undeniable reality that threatens the 96% of our acre, due to the geological structure of our country. We
are sure that, we will inevitably encounter an earthquake as a natural phenomenon in our country which is located on
Ethe most active fault lines. In addition to being aware of the fact that it is a geological reality, we have to declare the nec-
essary pre and post precautions in practicle ways and have to raise awareness in order to stop it turning into a disaster. That’s
the reason why we arranged a school tour to “ Kadikoy Municipality Disaster Training and Awareness Park” to raise aware-
ness. First of all, our students experienced some real-like and detrimental earthquakes, which really happened both in our
country and in the world, in the earthquake experience room with a simulation system. They learnt and tried how to cut off
the electricity, water, natural gas during and after the earthquake and they found out the importance of these actions in addi-
tion to the necessity of fixing the furniture that has a risk of falling. Afterwards, many topics such as disaster plan, disaster kit,
successive earthquakes, ways of behaviours about pre and post earthquake, importance of the fixing furniture were clarified
with a 6 minute movie at the 5D cinema, were clarified. The increase in awareness level was obtained thanks to the instruc-
tors Kadikoy Municipality Urban Search Rescue Team with the help of some games such as “I am Packing Up My Disaster
Bag”, “Find Your Partner and Pack Up Your Disaster Bag”, “The Whole Family Is At The Camp”, “Escape From The Smoke”.
